- Approval and agreement from the wife, to avoid forced marriage.
- One of the partners (husband/ wife) must has a residence visa in the UAE.
- Bringing the personal identification cards, passports, and residences of both spouses.
- Bringing a special medical examination for marriage from government medical examination centers before marriage in Dubai or other Emirates.
- Both of spouses should not have any hereditary blood diseases or any infectious diseases.
- The presence of the legal/sharia guardian or an official authority letter from him.
- If the wife is divorced or widowed, her divorce or widowhood certificate must be brought, duly certified.

- The consent and approval from the wife and her guardian are required, unless she is a new Muslim, as her guardian is the judge and the legal representative.
- The SPOUSES must be from the People of the Book - presence of the spouses and the father of the bride or someone on her behalf by an official authority, along with two Muslim men holding an Emirati identity as witnesses.
- The legal age for marriage is 18 years old, and if the wife is less than 18 years old, the approval of the judge is required.
- A girl with a non-Muslim father is required to submit a marriage approval certificate, issued by her home country or by the diplomatic mission representing her country in the UAE.
- The approval of the judge must be obtained if the age of the fiancé is double that of the wife.
- The fiancée who is divorced or widowed must submit an official document that proves this.
- The presence of the closest guardian to the bride, such as the elder brother, in case of father’s death.
